Description

The Academic Enrichment Programs (AEP) is hosting a one-day Community College Symposium on Friday, May 19th (8am-4:30pm @ UC San Diego Qualcomm Institute). The purpose of the symposium is to expose community college students to the diverse areas of research in all departments at UC San Diego. Students from Community Colleges in the San Diego area will attend. The day will include research talks by faculty members and students, poster session by students, roundtable discussions, and tours of campus and some research facilities.

We are currently seeking volunteers for this exciting event. Here is how you can help:

  • Poster presenter: Are you currently doing research? Present your research at our poster session! Poster presentation will be from 11:15am-12:30pm.

  • Roundtable discussion leader: Are you currently doing research? Come share your experience conducting research at UC San Diego with community college students. UC San Diego students will be paired with CC students during lunch to discuss the faculty talks, poster sessions, and their research. Roundtable discussion leader will be from 12:30pm-2pm.

  • General volunteer: We are seeking volunteers to help with event day setup and facilitation. Volunteers can sign up for available shifts.

This is a great opportunity to hear about research in various fields and engage in interactive experiences with students from local community colleges. Please register for any positions that apply to you.

Please email ccsymposium@ucsd.edu if you have any questions.
